Mountain Hunter expedition packable down jacket
Probably the best mountain hunting down jacket on the market today
The Mountain Hunter Expedition down jacket is first and foremost a jacket that is beautiful to look at and extremely pleasant and comfortable to wear, extremely warm despite its incredibly low weight (550 grams) and foldable into its pocket with minimal bulk in your backpack. It is padded with very high quality water-repellent down, which guarantees high thermal insulation but does not absorb humidity. It is the garment to keep in your backpack to be prepared for changes in weather conditions in the mountains, to wear when you stop walking to enjoy the warmth and comfort it offers. The jacket also features handwarmer pockets, an adjustable bottom hem and an integrated adjustable hood, to help you stay warm and comfortable at high altitudes and in difficult conditions.
Two of his secrets, also common to packable down trousers, which explain the exceptional performance and deserve a closer look:
- The filling power , or the ratio between the volume and the weight of the goose down in the padding. The filling power of this jacket is 900, probably the highest value in a hunting down jacket, certainly higher than that of the down jackets of American competitors. It means that there is an enormous volume of down for an extremely low weight. Warmth without weight.
- The goose down jacket HyperDRY®: the down that fills the jacket is treated with this system from the American company Allied that manages to isolate it from humidity better than any other existing treatment, while at the same time reducing the use of chemicals to a minimum as required by the Härkila philosophy of environmental respect. The sweat that perspires or the humidity that can enter during prolonged use tend to dampen the goose down and therefore reduce its warming effectiveness. With this treatment the exceptional filling power of this jacket remains intact over time.
